Effective leadership and management in nursing are important because they play a vital role in improving the quality of healthcare and enhancing the work environment for healthcare professionals and nurses. This review explores the integrated roles of leadership and management in nursing, focusing on how they contribute to improved patient outcomes, increased staff satisfaction, and a supportive and productive work environment. It highlights how effective management, including the allocation of resources and time, supports nurses in providing optimal care, while leadership motivates and inspires staff, improves morale, and overall healthcare delivery. Furthermore, the study examines how professional development and continuing education are important to maintaining high standards of care and employee engagement. It also reviews key challenges, such as the nursing shortage, balancing clinical and administrative duties, and organizational constraints and recommendations for overcoming them.
