Abstract

Rapid urbanization has intensified the need for efficient urban planning frameworks that integrate commercial and residential spaces to enhance livability and sustainability in modern cities. This study develops and evaluates urban planning frameworks aimed at promoting mixed-use development, improving accessibility, and optimizing urban functionality. A quantitative and spatially integrated research design was employed, incorporating variables related to spatial integration, accessibility, infrastructure, socio-economic performance, and environmental sustainability. Data were analyzed using composite indices, spatial analysis, and statistical modeling to assess integration performance across different planning zones. The results indicate that highly integrated zones demonstrated superior land-use diversity, improved walkability, stronger economic activity, and enhanced environmental sustainability compared to segregated development areas. The findings further revealed strong correlations among spatial integration, accessibility, socio-economic performance, and sustainability indicators, highlighting the benefits of holistic urban planning approaches. The study concludes that integrated commercial and residential planning frameworks significantly improve urban livability, reduce infrastructure inefficiencies, and promote sustainable development. These findings provide valuable insights for planners and policymakers in designing resilient and future-ready urban environments.
