Abstract

Restorative dentistry continues to evolve through technological innovation, evidence-based clinical protocols, and an increased emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. Dental assistants play a pivotal role in supporting restorative procedures, contributing to procedural efficiency, infection control, patient comfort, and post-treatment care. This review synthesizes current literature on advances in restorative techniques, materials, and technologies while examining the expanded clinical and administrative roles of dental assistants in enhancing treatment quality and patient satisfaction. By integrating perspectives from both clinical excellence and team-based care models, this article highlights the synergistic relationship between dentists and dental assistants in delivering optimal restorative outcomes.
