Abstract

This research aims to explore how the Egyptian poet Farouk Gouida employs dramatic elements in his poetry, through the analysis of poetic texts that include both internal and external conflicts, dynamic and evolving characters, as well as insights into the role of time and place in shaping events and developing characters. Gouida's poetry reflects the embodiment of psychological, intellectual, and existential struggles, which are expressed in his verse in a dramatic style intertwined with contemporary life situations. The analytical framework is applied to a selection of Gouida's poems where these elements are clearly evident. The research findings show that Farouk Gouida has creatively integrated dramatic elements into his poetry, making his style unique in reflecting the complexities of human life, surpassing the traditional form of Arabic poetry. The research concludes by clarifying the role that dramatic poetry plays in enhancing and understanding the human experience.
