Preventice care in family medicine is a key strategy to mitigate the incidence and impact of chronic diseases on public health. A mixed methodology was used, with bibliographic review and analysis of successful cases in public health systems in Latin America. The results highlight a positive correlation between the implementation of preventive strategies and the reduction of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive policies that include medical training, community engagement, and equitable access to preventive care.
