Abstract

Ambulatory pharmaceutical care is a growing field within healthcare systems worldwide, and Saudi Arabia has witnessed significant advancements in this area over recent years. The transformation is fueled by the nation's Vision 2030, which aims to modernize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. This article explores the current developments in ambulatory pharmaceutical care in Saudi Arabia, including its definition, history, and evolving role in the healthcare system. It highlights key programs, such as pharmacist-led clinics, medication therapy management (MTM), and collaborative practice agreements, while addressing the challenges and opportunities that exist within the Saudi healthcare system. Additionally, the article examines the impact of ambulatory care pharmacy on clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes and provides recommendations for its continued growth and integration into the healthcare system.
