Abstract

Cooperation between the health care providers is very crucial in the delivery of quality patient care. In Saudi Arabia, there has been an increasing focus on integrated and collaborative healthcare due to Vision 2030 which aims at enhancing the quality and experience of the healthcare services. This paper aims to identify the effects of collaborative practices on patient care, the difficulties and barriers that hinder effective teamwork among healthcare providers, and possibilities for improving cooperation in the healthcare system of Saudi Arabia. By addressing the issues of fragmented communication, professional silos and variations in training, Saudi Arabia can maximize the benefits of interprofessional collaboration to increase patient safety, productivity and overall satisfaction with health care services.
