This review examines the impact of gender dynamics on professional development and practice among nurses in Saudi Arabian hospitals. The nursing profession in Saudi Arabia has traditionally been female-dominated, but recent years have seen an increase in male nurses entering the field. This shift in gender composition has implications for professional practice, career advancement, and workplace dynamics. Through a comprehensive analysis of recent literature, this review explores how gender influences nursing education, job satisfaction, leadership opportunities, and patient care in the Saudi context. Key themes that emerged include persistent gender stereotypes, differential treatment in clinical settings, and unique challenges faced by male nurses. The review also considers how gender intersects with cultural norms and religious values in shaping nursing roles and responsibilities. Findings indicate that while progress has been made toward gender diversity, disparities remain in professional development trajectories and practice experiences between male and female nurses. Recommendations are provided for promoting gender equity, addressing biases, and leveraging the strengths of a gender-diverse nursing workforce to enhance healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia.
