Abstract

Introduction: Dental health is an important part of health but apparently access to full oral health care that many populations worldwide suffer from. Many barriers to attaining optimal dental health do not exist only at the clinic level. Some barriers extend beyond to social, economic, and systemic factors. In addition to that is recognizing the nexus between dental care and the general determinants of health. Therefore, multidisciplinary efforts involving social services, health assistance, and health administration become pivotal as strategies to these challenges.
Aim of work: To explore the multifaceted roles of these sectors in enhancing dental care, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to oral health.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search in the MEDLINE database's electronic literature using the following search terms: Role, Social Services, Health assistance, Health Administration, Supporting Comprehensive Dental Care. The search was restricted to publications from 2016 to 2024 in order to locate relevant content. We performed a search on Google Scholar to locate and examine academic papers that pertain to my subject matter. The selection of articles was impacted by certain criteria for inclusion.
Results: The publications analyzed in this study encompassed from 2016 to 2024. The study was structured into various sections with specific headings in the discussion section.
Conclusion: The roles played by social services, health assistance, and health administration are paramount in delivering holistic dental services towards addressing prevention and clinical services. These three determine social issues influencing oral health and create an equitable access care system. Holistically, they create not only an individual-oriented approach but also a community-centered one. As health systems evolve, so does the need to underscore collaborative care in dentistry. Education, infrastructure, and policy investment are very necessary interventions overcoming obstacles and maximizing the impact these efforts are meant to attain. It will help ensure a dental care system that is going to be accessible, affordable and effective to all, thereby improving the dental and general health of the populations.
